Magazine Cover Review

                 As I viewed the printed magazines, I was astonished at the level of manipulation that companies can come up with. An article by  Michael Scherer  doubts that people are unable to read through a whole magazine with only words on it, and while this may be true, it seems that most magazine companies disagree.             In the Oprah magazine, the cover was dominated by an image of Oprah holding up a dog while smiling. The background contained a large O on it as well. Celebrities were barely mentioned on the cover, with all the attention being focused on Oprah herself. It is clear that this magazine is specifically designed to bring all the attention onto Oprah herself, with everything else meant to be for the background. Title Sequence Clip Review

                  To see the openings of so many great films, and to not just merely view them, but analyze them, it brings a new perspective. So many of the films' title sequences was quite fascinating to me, with my initial reaction being amazement. Miles Merril of the Metro Magazine states in one of his articles, "First frames: titles in the digital realm," that, "It's a strange relationship, almost a legal obligation, but every film includes words flowing across the screen." With such a practice in place for nearly every film, it's no wonder that filmmakers were bound to create works of art that can hook moviegoers.              In the opening for the movie Scream, I observed every detail I could spot with great interest.
